Con Makris’s journey began in a small Greek village. Arriving alone in Australia at sixteen, he was determined to build a life of opportunity. From delivering garments in Athens to working in a steel foundry in Adelaide, he learned the value of hard work and careful observation. This led to the opening of his first small business, which grew into significant developments over time. He visited Marina Mirage in the early 1990s and later acquired it, imagining an Australian Riviera—an elegant waterfront destination. Inspired by the sea, he aims to create Australia’s most beautiful waterfront resort—an enduring, valuable Marina Mirage.
